* Jackson in Your House

Recorded in Paris on June 23, 1969. A masterpiece by the American avant-garde jazz/free jazz unit "Art Ensemble of Chicago" from Chicago. Recorded at Saravah Studio, headed by Pierre Barouh. From the spiritual intro woven by multi-instrumentalist Roscoe Mitchell, to a high-speed brass bridge reminiscent of Romani (Gypsy) folk music , then evolving into a Dixieland-esque development, this is -garde jazz. Includes "A Jackson in Your House," and "The Waltz," with its impressive spiritual ensemble, and "Song for Charles," dedicated to the early bassist Charles Clark, who died at the age of 24. Released in 1984, Japanese edition by King (K23P-6379).

* Tutankhamun

Recorded in Paris on June 26, 1969. An -spiritual mix of chaos and lyrical ensemble, structured into a thrilling jazz session. A masterpiece from the early Paris era, just before drummer Don Moye joined the group. Japanese edition by Trio (PA-9715), 1974. >Note: The back of the jacket has peeling and tape repair marks (image 12).

* Reese and Smooth Ones

Recorded in Paris on August 12, 1969. A culmination of the "Art Ensemble of Chicago"'s year-long activities in Paris. "Reese" was written by Roscoe Mitchell, and "The Smooth Ones" was written by Lester Bowie, but both are included as one track within the same title. A torrent of jazz. Japanese edition by Toho (YX-8028), 1971, promotional copy.
